Catch Basins

Catch Basins

This was a job in town where all of the catch basins were being dug out to add new concrete. What is a catch basin? A catch basin is basically a storm drain. They are used to redirect water to avoid flooding and are common on public streets but may also be installed on private properties. Catch basins gather rainwater or melted snow, transferring runoff to a sump, reservoir, or treatment facility.

This type of work requires a lot of detailed work cutting out the small areas of concrete and removing all all of the old to prepare for the new concrete pour. The new area need to be prepped for the concrete, the grate realigned and the pour needs to slope down to a certain low point for the water to drain into it. Steve Hupp Construction does this work daily and does quality work.
